CAPA developed by HearingProTech

Verify compliance of the COTRAL protections

and check that your employees are properly protected if they wear their protections 100% of the time spent exposed to noise (according to standard EN 458).

Why test the efficacy of the hearing protections?

The scientific studies show that deviations exist between the certification measurements of the protectors performed in a laboratory and the reality "in situ". This is why the referent certification bodies (INRS, IFA...) recommend reductions on the results obtained in the laboratory in order to have a predictive assessment of the attenuation of the protectors.

These results however remain mean results.

The outcome : individuals on either side of this mean will be adequately or even excessively protected, whereas others will not benefit from adequate attenuation and will be exposed in this case to a noise risk without being aware of it.

Discover the operating principle and the advantages of CAPA?

2 tests are available and fulfil 2 aims:

  • You wish to perform a complete measurement of attenuation: conventional test.
8 minutes are all that is needed to find out whether a hearing protection complies and obtain a highly precise measurement of the attenuation of the 2 protections over the octave range (125 to 8000 Hz). Hence, you can be sure that your employee, if s/he wears his/her hearing protections 100% of the time spent exposed to noise, will be properly protected against the risks associated with noise.
  • You are checking the compliance of a protection: "Flash" test.
In less than 3 minutes, you can check the compliance of the protectors against the minimum attenuation levels specified by the manufacturer.
